Letter from the Aerie 680 President

Letter from Aerie President,

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elliott’s Knob Aerie 680, I hope this message finds you well.

My name is Greg Chilafoux, and I am honored to introduce myself to this esteemed group as a fellow Eagle. I have been with my wife Nikki for 18 years, who will be this year’s Auxiliary Vice President. I am proud father of four wonderful children, and a grateful grandfather to two wonderful grandchildren. Family is at the heart of everything I do and I’m grateful to be a part of an organization that values community, service, and support just as deeply.

As a Veteran of the United States Navy, and with my son currently serving in the United States Army, supporting our Nation’s Veterans is a cause that lies close to my heart. Our service members’ sacrifice so much for our freedom and security, and I believe it’s our duty to ensure they are not forgotten once they return home.

For this reason, I have chosen to champion a charity dedicated to supporting Veterans, The Wounded Warrior Project. My goal is to raise awareness among our members and community about the challenges our Veterans face and what we can do—together—to make a meaningful difference in their lives. Whether it’s through fundraising, volunteering, or simply spreading the word; I believe we have the power to create a real and lasting impact. I would love the opportunity to share more about this charity, its mission, and how our Aerie can get involved in supporting our Heroes.

I welcome your ideas, your voices, and your passion as we work together toward a common cause. Thank you for your time, your service to this organization, and your commitment to the values that make the Eagles family so special. I am looking forward to this year as your President here at Elliott’s Knob Aerie 680.

Fraternally Yours,

Greg Chilafoux,

Aerie President

Letter from the Auxiliary President

Greetings Brothers & Sisters,

Hello, my name is Amber Wright and I’m very excited to introduce myself as your new Auxiliary President! Over the past two years of being a member, I’ve loved getting to know you and enjoyed participating in all the different events we do. I have formed great friendships along the way and proud to say that I’m apart of Staunton 680!

For those of you who don’t know me, my husband Eric Wright, and I moved to Staunton from Charlottesville several years ago. We have loved the change of pace and wished we would have moved here sooner. We have a beautiful, smart and witty daughter, Summer Rae (14), who keeps us on our toes – Oh, the teenage years! I have spent the last 6 years serving the community as a Branch Manager at DCCU. I truly love embracing the moto of People helping People, which led me to becoming an Eagle!

During my term, the Charity I’ll be advocating for is the Valley Children’s Advocacy Center. I have personally volunteered with them several times, and they hold a special place in my heart. Their organization is dedicated to supporting survivors of child abuse, right here in our community. They partner with local law enforcement to provide a safe place for children to share their story and get the help and support they need. Mental health is critical to our youth – unfortunately these children have experienced the unthinkable. VCAC provides therapy to survivors at no cost, in addition to support and resources to their families and guardians. They do incredible work for the families of our community. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend you reach out to them – they’re always looking for volunteers to help support their work.

I look forward to the year ahead and seeing all that we can accomplish, TOGETHER

Yours Truly,

Amber Wright,

Madam President
